Outreach
Our outreach efforts are only possible because of volunteers who are the hands, feet, and face of Christ in our community. Our volunteers include members of St. Luke’s, but also members of the community and even other churches. They help with specific ministries, and they staff the front desk where they greet community members coming for help. In that way, they truly are the face of Christ to many. If you are interested in helping with our ministries, contact info@stlukeshs.org.
Because of generous contributions, we are able to assist our neighbors who need help with utility bills, water bills, and unexpected expenses. We cannot always help financially, but we always promise to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Jesus taught us to pray for our daily bread, and for many in our community, finding daily food can be a challenge. St. Luke’s provides our neighbors in need with snack packs, which are designed to be a high caloric source of energy. Each pack costs about $5, and we pass out around 1,000 per month. We would love your help!
The shower ministry is a vital service to many of our unhoused neighbors. Every Tuesday morning, they come to St. Luke’s for a shower, fresh clothes, food, and fellowship. Our volunteers who work this ministry get to know our unhoused neighbors in deep and meaningful ways. We would love your help!
St. Luke’s started the emergency warming and cooling shelters in our own parish hall. We have now grown out of that space, and have been working for several years toward a Resource Center for our under-resourced neighbors. We would love your help with this community project. Contact us to see how you can get plugged in.
