Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, Tuesday, November 25, 2008

People from First United Methodist Church, Visitor’s Chapel AME, and Congregation House of Israel joined togeter to celebrate Thanksgiving at St Luke’s. The Sermon was offered by Rabbi Fox and special music presented by a combined choir. In lieu of a monetary offering, canned goods were brought by those attending and many boxes of food were distributed at local food pantries.
Annual St Francis Day Blessing of the Animals
Each year, members of St Luke’s, local animal shelters, and pet therapy groups bring their animal friends to the St Luke’s courtyard to receive a blessing, as we give thanks for the beauty of God’s creation and the joy that our pets bring to our lives. Each pet receives a certificate to mark the occasion.
