Rector's Discretionary Fund

St Luke's is committed to being a place of hope and healing to all who come to our doors. To that end, the Rector's Discretionary Fund offers the opportunity to assist people in need in a variety of ways, from utility or rental assistance, to finding temporary lodging to providing snack packs of non-perishable food items.

All this is made possible by contributions from caring individuals who believe that we are to seek and serve Christ in all persons.

Community Involvement

St Luke's is known throughout the community for its Warming Shelter, which operates when temperatures fall below 20 degrees.  Guests receive hot meals, a safe place to sleep, and are welcome to stay throughout the day.

  • Shower Ministry

In addition to the Snack Packs we provide to many on a daily basis, we are now able to offer a shower and clean clothes for those who will find such basic things a luxury.  Volunteers are always welcome to assist our guests.  If you are interested in serving, please call the church office at 501.623.1653 or email Kathy Randel.

  • Jackson House

Eleanor Klugh Jackson House for Crisis Intervention Services, Inc., commonly known as "Jackson House," is an interfaith community crisis center which provides short-term emergency assistance for the basic needs - food, clothing and shelter, and medicine without regard to race, creed, sex or nationality - and without imposing our values or beliefs upon those they serve. St Luke's was one of the founders of this cornerstone community agency.

  • Project Hope food bank

The Mission of Project Hope Food Bank is to provide healthy and affordable food to feeding programs and food pantries in West Central Arkansas. With our proprietary operating model, we use our centrally-located 2000 sq. ft. Warehouse, 25 x 12 Freezer, Fork Lift and 22 Box Truck to do this at the lowest possible price. The staff is all volunteer; the warehouse has been donated and they have no debt or term leases.

  • Samaritan Ministries

Since late 2007, Samaritan Ministries of Hot Springs, Inc. has been making a difference in the lives of approximately 900 different homeless men of the Hot Springs community.

Their reason for existence is to share the love and forgiveness of Christ and end homelessness in individual lives. The reason we believe lives can be changed... we're seeing it happen every day.

St Luke's prepares and serves meals here regularly.

  • kairos

Kairos is a prison ministry that sends both men and women into area prisons to share God's love with the inmates. For more information, call the church office at 501.623.1653 or email Kathy Randel

  • angel tree

Before Christmas, names of children who are in foster care are given to St Luke's by a program administered by the Juvenile Court. Parishioners buy gifts for the children to make it possible for them to have a Christmas they otherwise would not have. For information about how to participate in this program, call the church office at 501.623.1653 or email Kathy Randel
